Dr. Burmeister, likewise, failed to meet with this species,and expresses his opinion that it is confined to the environs of Bahia and does not penetrate intothe interior. In Mato Grosso and in the adjoining districts of Bolivia the present species is replaced bythe nearly allied B. striatipectus.
