«Прямоугольное двухстороннее зелёное полотнище с отношением ширины к длине 2:3, воспроизводящее фигуры из герба Дятьковского района, выполненные пурпурным, белым и жёлтым цветом».

Описание герба: «В зелёном поле серебряная звезда о десяти лучах и с сиянием между ними, поверх которой пурпурный шар (диск), обременённый двумя серебряными шпагами накрест с дужками на золотых эфесах и над ними — золотой звездой о восьми лучах».
