English: The Tympanal (hearing) organs of 2 moths viewed from the ventral (under) side. The image shows the abdomen where it has been removed from the thorax. The 'm' indicates the membrane of the tympanal organ. The moth on the left is a species of clothes moth, from the family Tineidae and the one on the right is a pyralid moth species (family Pyralidae). |
