DescripciónEl Kiosko Morisco, Santa Maria La Ribera.jpg
English: This iron pavilion was designed by engineer José Ramón Ibarrola and erected in New Orleans for the World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition of 1884-1885 (where it was popularly called the Alhambra Palace). It eventually was returned to Mexico, where it was reconstructed in Alameda Central on the western side of the Historic Center and then moved in 1910 to Alameda de Santa María La Ribera, where it still stands as an emblematic icon of the neighborhood and city. While in Alameda Central it was used for lottery drawings, which indirectly led to the National Lottery’s Art Deco office building completed in the 1940s being called El Moro.
It is described as Mudéjar or Neo-Mudéjar, a Spanish architectural style blending European and Moorish influences.
