The present view of the Hermitage Museum. A fragment of the painting Catherine II Strolling in the Park at Tsarskoye Selo by Vladimir Borovikovsky (1794, Tretyakov Gallery). The inscription at the bottom of the souvenir sheet: “The collection of the Hermitage was initiated in 1764 when Catherine II purchased 255 paintings.”
