Comentario[editar]

Recently I discovered that one of our *own* smtp servers was listed in just 1 list on multi.valli.org, it was dnsblchile.org. It was not just listed, it was listed as 127.0.0.12, which is, according to them, because the IP was part of a block that practices 'snowshoe spamming'. Me and my IP-provider have been thoroughly monitoring our servers, the entire IP block included, for exits of spam mail. And there has never been sent 1 spam mail that was sourced in our server's IP block.

So we decided to ask them why, and show us the proof as to why they have the IP listed like that, and how it got listed. We - naturally - want to clear the IP from false positive listings like that, and at least know what the source of the listing has been. I would just like to let you know how this list apparently operates; They've listed our server's IP without *any* foundation, they never notified the IP block owner, they never notified us, and most of all, we are the biggest anti-spam people you can find! So to accuse our servers to send it, or to list it as if they do, hurts us hard. We work our asses off to secure the servers, and we monitor them extensively.

Plus, when one of our customers complained that their mail was blocked in Chili (because of some ISP over there using that dnsbl), we decided to report them to the ISP authorities in The NL. They responded with a rather threatening message saying they will no longer reply or read anything we send them.

Just so you know; This DNSBL should never be used, it's highly unreliable; They just randomly list IP's when they feel like it. Plus their removal policy is obviously non-existent! Me, my employer and our customers believe you should know this before even contemplating using it.
