Discusión:Mihalis Yannakakis
Apariencia
This article writes "Es miembro de la Association for Computing Machinery", but Yannakakis is not just a member (anyone can be a member for the cost of an annual subscription) but a fellow (a high honor within the ACM; see the ACM page on their fellows program). Unfortunately I don't know Spanish well enough to make this distinction clear. Can someone who does please check this and make sure that the text accurately reflects Yannakakis' accomplishments? Thanks. —David Eppstein (discusión) 22:22 28 ago 2009 (UTC)
- Hello David: you're right, but in spanish "fellow" and "member" are synonymous. So, I changed the sentence by "miembro honorífico", wich is something like "honor member". What do you think about that? Thank you. Farisori » 22:32 28 ago 2009 (UTC)
- I see in e.g. this Spanish news release that the translation of fellow does seem to be miembro. The new version does at least hint that it's not the standard type of member, so I guess that's the best we can do. Thanks! —David Eppstein (discusión) 01:00 29 ago 2009 (UTC)
