Haha, I'm laughing at your Facebook discussion!! Anyhow, all is well, and it looks as though you're making good progress. You need to do the following two things:

First, compile your various sources (and as I say, you can grab stuff from the English wikipedia article) and bring them all together as a "long list."

Second, decide what you are actually going to read: this will be the equivalent of one book or six articles each. This means deciding (from what in this case will be a rather long list) what are the most vital sources, and who's going to read them. This then will be your short list.

Your next step will then be to read this stuff and produce an annotated bibliography. But that deadline is later.

Fidel y Gabo: El paisaje de una amistad por Ángel Esteban y Stéphanie Panichelli

El libro “Fidel y Gabo: El paisaje de una amistad” es una colaboración de Ángel Esteban y Stéphanie Panichelli que sigue las vidas y interacciones de Fidel Castro y Gabriel García Márquez. El libro empieza con una cita directa de Fidel Castro en su libro “La novela de sus recuerdos,” una cita entre muchas en el libro. Después los autores dan una biografía corta de cada uno de Castro y García Márquez, explicando sus situaciones en su infancia, que García Márquez venía de una vida con sus abuelos en Columbia y que Castro venía de una familia rica con muchos recursos en Cuba. Los autores siempre cambian el tiempo en que están hablando, explicando algo de sus infancias y después hablando de una entrevista en el siglo veintiuno. No hay una línea de tiempo que siguen. El libro da una explicación sobre como los dos amigos se convirtió en estudiantes de Derecho. Era algo natural por Fidel Castro que mostró signos de interés a una edad joven. Por otro lado, Gabriel García Márquez empezó estudiar Derecho pero descubrió que la escritura era algo que le dio más interés. Sigue las vidas de los dos amigos durante momentos importantes históricos en Columbia, Cuba y Los Estados Unidos, dando cuento a donde estaban Castro y García Marque y como los instancias afectaron sus vidas en maneras diferentes. También siguen las dos cuando viajan a países diferentes en diferentes tiempos solos o con amigos o con sus familias. “Fidel y Gabo” no concentra solo en las vidas de García Márquez y Castro pero también habla de figuras importantes que tenían afectos diferentes en las vidas de los dos. Por ejemplo, el libro consiste de una parte sobre “el caso de Padilla,” un poeta cubano que fue encarcelado por Fidel Castro y el opinión de Gabriel García Márquez sobre la situación. El poder es un tema importante en las vidas de ambos Gabo y Fidel. Un capitulo en el libro habla de la importancia de poder en sus vidas y como los dos lograron el poder. También los dos hombres deciden usar el poder diferente que poseen en maneras muy diferentes. Fidel tiene su poder en la forma de ser presidente de Cuba cuando Gabo tiene el poder a través de su escritura y las relaciones que tiene con líderes de muchos países en América latina y otros países en Europa. El libro habla del premio Nobel de Literatura que Gabriel García Márquez ha recibido y como afecto su vida. Durante este tiempo, 1982, Gabo y Fidel solidifican su amistad y había mucha critica sobre la relación entre los dos hombres. El libro no tiene muchas cosas buenas para decir sobre Fidel Castro y en facto, pinta una imagen de un hombre malo y su compañero Gabo. Consiste el libro de un capitulo sobre Fidel y como ha estado el hombre que ha estado en poder por el mas tiempo en el siglo veinte. Pero no es llamado una dictadora por mucho del mundo. Es posible que García Márquez tenga un personaje que es muy semejante de Castro en uno de sus libros que es representado en la misma forma que en la vida real pero este no es verificado porque García Márquez trata de no hacer este. Finalmente el libro se trata de cómo la relación entre Gabriel García Márquez y Fidel Castro afecta las otras personas en sus vidas. Gabo perdió amigos porque sus amigos no pudieron entender su relación con Fidel. Algunos de sus ex amigos que son escritores escribieron obras sobre la relación toxica entre Gabo y Fidel y como Gabo ahora no es una buena persona. También se trata de la relación entre Cuba y Fidel y los otros países del mundo. A través de todo el libro la amistad de Gabo y Fidel crece y cambia pero nunca se deteriora y se puede verla desde el principio hasta hoy en día.

en la seccion de ESTILO: "Como autor de ficción, García Márquez es siempre asociado con el realismo mágico. De hecho, es considerado la figura central de este género. El realismo mágico se usa para describir elementos que tienen, como es el caso en los trabajos de este autor, la yuxtaposición de la fantasía y el mítico con las actividades diarias y ordinarias."

Estoy frustrada

Hey ladies, so i've added stuff again to the section Estilo, I feel like I need to do more. Who is doing the Temas section? I could add some stuff that if you ladies think it would help. I don't think there is more much to be added to the Estilo section but me and Shima are meeting tomorrow morning to finish it off. Does anyone else need help with their sections? I really don't understand how to do well with this project. I feel extremely helpless.
