False information[editar]

This article gives so much false information, or misinformation. First of all, Tanolis are NOT a Pashtun tribe and there is no 'Tanabul River' in all of Afghanistan. I have spent almost 40 years researching many historical and geographic facts there but there is no proof at all of any such connection. Also, the Tanolis are neither Arabic nor Turkic, as also wrongly ascribed by some people. Here in this fake article, the writer has also given a list of books but except for one by Dr Sher Bahadur Panni (pub 1969) , the rest are no reliable books. They are all self-published by Tanolis in Pakistan (Hazara area KPK) or by some people paid by some Tanolis and are totally nonsense, no factual research at all.

In my many years of research in Afghanistan, I met some few Tanolis or 'Tanavoli' as they call themselves, in 2 villages near the Afghani-Iranian border . According to these Tanavoli people, they were originally nomadic people belonging to Luri or Bakhtyari Iranian tribes. They came from 'Tanavol' area of Luristan province in Iran. In that area, it is interesting to note, there are also some villages named 'Shirgarh' and 'Derband' , same as in Hazara area of KPK, Pakistan- is that a coincidence ? I don't think so. I think that this connection must be researched further to solve the mystery of the real origins of Tanoli people of NW/KPK Pakistan. I believe they probably came as nomads of Luri-Bakhtyari tribes and some settled down near Afghan-Irani border and some came further into India in 18th century and moved up to the Hazara and Kashmir areas (now in modern Pakistan). Possibly, DNA testing can also confirm such a connection? Further research is a must. 39.54.51.232 (discusión) 18:08 2 dic 2018 (UTC)Dr Syed Anjum Ali Bokhari, Pakistan[responder]

List of some books with comments[editar]

This is a list below of some books, some of which are fake and spurious written by Tanolis or people sponsored by Tanolis and giving misinformation ; while others state that the Tanolis are either Turks (of Barlas tribe) or are people of indigenous Hindi origins.

Gazetteer of the Hazara District, 1883-4 (p38)--- this gives an undetermined origin to the Tanolis, while stating that probably they might be Turkish.

Glossary of the Tribes and Castes of the Punjab and North West Frontier Province H.A Rose, p255 & p256-- gives an undetermined origin to Tanolis.

Chiefs and Families of Note in Punjab by Lepel H.Griffin (1910, ii, p254)-- does not mention much about the Tanolis only mentions their main /head family who became British subjects and loyalists during 1840s colonial times. However, they say that the Tanolis are probably Barlas Turkic who have mixed with Pashtuns and adapted their ways.

Gazetteer of the North-Western Frontier Province p138.- Also states that the Tanoli origins are not clear.

Panjab Castes by Denzil Ibbetson, Delhi, p93.

The Jaduns by Sultan Khan Jadun (2001).

Tarikh-ul-Afghan ka Tehqiqi Jahiza by Sultan Khan Jadun (1979)- this book is not about Tanolis but about Jaduns , a Pashtun type tribe ; however, it also mentions that Tanolis claim to be either Turkis or Pashtuns, but does not give any opinion as to what their real origins are.

Tairikh-e-Hazara by Dr Sher Bahadur Khan Panni (1969).-- This is the ONLY RELIABLE BOOK among these and it states that the Tanolis are probably a mixed race, with some Pashtun influences but real origins elsewhere.

Soldier Sahibs: The Men who made the North-Western Frontier by Charles Allen, Abacus 2001-- tyis book does not mention anything in detail about Tanolis origins but only says they are a 'tribe living among Pashtuns' but not Pashtun.

Tanolis In the Mirror of History, written by M. Ismail Khan Tanoli - fake book, misinformation , written by Tanoli, not at all reliable.

History of Tanwal, written by Muhammad Fida- also a fake book, misinformation, not reliable at all.

Tanoli Al-Afghan, written by Ghulam Nabi -- Another fake book, sponsored publication, no reliable information or facts. Not to be trusted.

Please keep these in mind, thanks. 39.54.51.232 (discusión) 18:21 2 dic 2018 (UTC)Syed Anjum Ali Bokhari, Pakistan[responder]
