Sin embargo, el uso en inglés no siempre implica una elisión. El apóstrofo del caso genitivo, por ejemplo en the book’s (“del libro”) no viene de ninguna elisión, sino que se usa para distinguir la frase con the books (“los libros”) ortográficamente.

This information is incorrect given that the apostrophe + s in "book´s" substitutes for the older style of "the book its (cover)". I THINK that all such uses of the apostrophe (´s) substitute a possessive pronoun e.g. Robert´s book = "Robert his book" etc.
