Robert Patrick Webb (Boston, Lincolnshire, 29 de septiembre de 1972)[1]​ es un comediante, actor y escritor británico. Forma parte del acto de Mitchell and Webb, junto a David Mitchell. Ambos protagonizaron la comedia de situación de Channel 4, Peep Show, en la que Webb interpreta a Jeremy "Jez" Usbourne. Los dos también protagonizaron el programa de sketches, That Mitchell and Webb Look, para el que luego realizaron una adaptación teatral, The Two Faces of Mitchell and Webb. El dúo protagonizó la película Magicians, de 2007 y la serie de corta duración Ambassadors. Webb encabezó la comedia de situación The Smoking Room y actuó en el programa de sketches Bruiser. Desde 2017, ha protagonizado junto a Mitchell la comedia dramática de Channel 4, Back.

Webb también es un panelista habitual de comedia y aparece en programas de televisión como The Bubble, Have I Got News for You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI, Mastermind, Was It Something I Said y Argumental. También ha presentado y narrado varios programas. Sus otras apariciones en comedias de situación incluyen Blessed, The Bleak Old Shop of Stuff y Fresh Meat.

Primeros años[editar]

Nacido en Boston, Lincolnshire, Webb creció en Woodhall Spa cerca de Horncastle.[2]​ Sus padres se divorciaron cuando él tenía cinco años y su madre se volvió a casar un año después.[3]​ Tiene dos hermanos mayores[4]​ y una media hermana menor.[2]​ Creció en una propiedad del consejo[5]​ y se educó en la escuela secundaria Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School en Horncastle.[6]​ Habiendo crecido viendo las comedias The Young Ones, Blackadder y Only Fools and Horses, se interesó en el teatro y la poesía mientras estaba en la escuela y comenzó a escribir parodias.[7]​ A la edad de 13 años, en parte debido al resentimiento hacia su padre, decidió perder su acento de Lincolnshire.[8]​

Cuando Webb tenía 17 años y estaba en el sexto grado inferior preparándose para sus exámenes, su madre murió de cáncer de mama,[9]​[10]​ mudándose con su padre y volviendo a tomar sus exámenes.[2]​

En 1992, Webb asistió al Robinson College de Cambridge, donde estudió inglés y se convirtió en vicepresidente de Footlights, donde conoció a David Mitchell.[11]​ Los dos se conocieron en una audición para una producción de Footlights de La Cenicienta en 1993.[4]​
