El Inspector es una serie animada de los años de 1960 producida por DePatie-Freleng Enterprises y publicado a través de United Artists. El personaje principal está basado en el agente de la policía francesa llamado Jacques Clouseau,  que es el personaje principal en las películas de La Pantera Rosa.. La música utilizada para los títulos de la serie animada era la canción «A Shot in the Dark» por Henry Mancini, tomado prestado del la película de 1964 del mismo nombre. La música adicional estuvo compuesta inicialmente por William Lava, más tarde por Walter Greene. 

Todos los episodios aparecieron durante la temporada inicial (1969–1970) de la serie animada de la Pantera Rosa. Para las nuevas secuencias, el Inspector (ahora con la voz de Marvin Miller) es presentado intentando capturar a La Pantera Rosa..​

Argumemto

A pesar de que el personaje principal nunca tuvo un nombre, en contraste al [Inspector Clouseau]], el personaje de la serie animada era generalmente competente. La comedia a veces provenía de los villanos y de situaciones donde el Inspector estaba expuesto. A través de estas circunstancias difíciles, a menudo los delincuentes consiguen que el Inpector muestre lo mejor de él y tenga que afrontar la ira de su temperamental comisario acosador (basado en el Comisario Dreyfus de Herbert Lom).​

Pat Harrington, Jr. Proporcionado la voz para el Inspector y también suministró la voz del ayudante del Inspector, español gendarme nombró Deux-Deux (a menudo sonando como "Ju-Du"), un apodo francés común para Eduard/Eduardo. El Comisario frustrado era voiced principalmente por Paul Libera.
