Trayectoria deportiva[editar]

Nacimiento e infancia[editar]

Ari was born in Canada having Mexican parents. His ancestry includes Spanish, Mexican and Canadian. Ari spent his formative years riding Colosio Skatepark and Vans Skatepark, Southern Mexico and Southern of Vancouver. She was 7 years old when she received her first skateboard and she loved it. She found out about a place which seemed to be a skatepark and she went there one day & she knew she won’t be away from her board ever again.

Comienzos[editar]

Looking Tony Hawk videos were huge inspirations for her and she started getting involved in competitions and started to progress with her skating. She won her first major competition at 10 years old when she won the IISS in Canada.

Skateboarding Career.

She won her first major competition at 10 years old when she won the IISS in Canada. Skate careers start and then it ends. When it ends, whether it’s by choice or by getting the boot, the transition into the “real world” is something unexpected and rarely thought of. She thinks, she was once one of the lucky ones. She was able to turn her hobby into a career, going on tours, enjoying with Friends.

Ari Lenham: I was too young to take life serious. [cita requerida]

After some time, she started to face the pressure of her parents to understand that a long-standing injury meant a lot of time off her board which put her in a place that she didn’t expect. Ari Lenham: It was already time for me to think about what was next. I hated that thought. It was something that lingered in the back of my head for years, but it always felt so far away. It was something I would always figure out later.

Nevertheless, It was time to face it. To explain the feeling of coming to terms with having to move back to Mexico, quit my sponsors, quit my dream, and try to see where I fit into the world, after only knowing, only being, a skater. Here’s the thing: if you’re living that lifestyle and aren’t being productive on your board, you’re just a pile. [cita requerida]

Rollerblading Career.

After 8 years, she couldn’t be totally away from extreme sports. Ari was catching up her old friends during all this time and looking at their lifestyle which was totally different from hers but she decided to give herself another opportunity, I got in touch with old friends who were at the top in that moment and she asked them for support. Training herself in a different area where she was not ready for, that was the hardest thing for her, she had some thoughts about dropped out everything and keep being a normal person. Rollerblading was something new for her, she got some hand, back, feet and leg injures, spending lot of money before getting a sponsor.

December 2014 surprised her, she got her ticket for Canadian Street Contest and she was going on her own, putting all the hard work and giving her best. At the end she was the only one who trusted herself because no one else believed on her. Ari Lenham: It was not an easy contest for sure, there were a lot of talented girls like Bibiche, Sacha, Jacky Schrooten, Lemon Cake, and some others which have thousands of sponsors because of their good work. [cita requerida]

With a thumb sprained on an over-rotated backside 1080 in the second qualifying run, she clinched the event with the second of her four runs in the finals. Feeling blessed, all her efforts, the hard work and by the first time, she saw how people started to look for her and asking her name, offering photoshoot sessions for clothing lines and energetic beverages mainly in Canada, USA, Mexico and Spain.

Vida personal[editar]

To deal with two different life styles, behind of rollerblading is just Ari's thing.

In an Interview given to Blukvel Magazine, Ari accepted to be under a Rehab due to addiction to Energetic Beverages.

Uwe Volkova (Her sponsor) gave the new that she will not join the next 3 contests during 2015 because of rehab treatment (drugs, alcohol and physical injures). She said that she got several injures in her hands (fingers) due to a lot of falls they got damaged and she was in pain during 3 weeks without getting better, she had to be under Physiotherapy, lather on she got injured 2 knees putting her on pain during 3 months. But she almost broke in tears admitting that she got addicted to energetic beverages, damaging her stomach and other stuff due to her sleeplessness, but also she got into a huge depression due to personal issues as consequence of having 2 different life styles. Nevertheless she is still learning how handle them without affecting her health.

Ari Lenham: I know I look very positive and I smile all days because I like to encourage people so that it doesn’t happen to them what to me. [cita requerida]
