Lambda Aurigae (λ Aur / 15 Aurigae / HD 34411)[1] es una estrella binaria en la constelación de Auriga de magnitud aparente +4,70. Está situada a 41,2 años luz de distancia del Sistema Solar.
La estrella principal del sistema, Lambda Aurigae A, es una posible subgigante de tipo espectral G1.5 IV-V.[1] Su luminosidad, 86% mayor que la luminosidad solar, y su tamaño, tiene un diámetro un 70% más grande que el del Sol,[2] sugieren que es una estrella evolucionada abandonando la secuencia principal. Tiene una temperatura superficial de 5889 K y su metalicidad parece ser algo mayor que la del Sol ().[3] Los contenidos relativos de otros elementos químicos como sodio, magnesio, aluminio o silicio son superiores en ~ 25% a los existentes en el Sol. Su masa es un 20% mayor que la masa solar y su edad se estima en torno a 3715[3] - 4600 millones de años.[4]
La estrella acompañante, Lambda Aurigae B (BD+39 1248B), tiene magnitud aparente +13,4. Está separada visualmente 29,1 segundos de arco de la estrella principal.[5]
